I had an awesome time at Katsucon last weekend! cosmosin_strife and I drove down on Thursday to meet up with scribblesitm at her house, then that night the three of us went to the hotel to check in and get our badges. It was a good thing we did because the pre-reg line on Friday was LONG and we got to skip it. I wish I kept my camera on me Thursday evening because I saw the most amazing TYL!Lambo and TYL!Reborn from KHR in the elevator. I never did find them the rest of the weekend to get a shot! On our way to the hotel, we stopped at Benihana Hibachi Grill for some entertaining dinner.

I think on Friday I might have seen oceanica and her friend that was going with her, but I'm not sure. If I did, their costumes were amazing also! I feel bad if it was them and I didn't say hi, but I had already walked away with my group when it clicked why Chouji looked familiar. I didn't get a chance to run into them again the rest of the weekend either.

On Friday afternoon the three of us caught up with chyna_rose23 at a Naruto photoshoot. It was totally by chance that I noticed her LJ name on her badge! It was really awesome getting to meet her, and she is a lot more talkative in person than online. We also got to meet her friend Aaron, who was done up as an amazing Kurenai. He was hilarious and a lot of fun! Friday night we went to Chilies for dinner and one of the few people who came up to us asking what was going on (we went in cosplay) gave cosmosin_strife a special Pentigon issue Obama coin to take back to Scotland!

Saturday was a blast hanging out with our group. We got to know this girl who was playing an adorable child!Gaara who let us huddle under her blanket at the outdoor photoshoot and another girl who went as Temari and Haku. Both had awesome cosplays! I wish I were good with names, because I don't remember them. >.< Saturday evening brought the lulz, as scribblesitm, cosmosin_strife, and I went to the Valentine's Ball in formal wear versions of our cosplays. cosmosin_strife and I learned how to ballroom dance! (They made me the lead though!)

Sunday was a chill day, except for lugging our suitcases down from the 9th floor via the stairwell. The real shitty part of the experience was the elevators. They were so not set up for the enmasse of people there for the con. You had to practically pencil in 30 min of elevator time if you planned to be somewhere.
